Resilience is Needed Now

“Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

Going with the flow is not always a passive approach. At the :26 mark in the video, Bruce Lee gives a knowing smile which hints at the power of his quote.  And the power of water. Water created the Grand Canyon and has shaped the earth. As anyone who has ever tried to stop a leak of any kind will tell you water is resilient and relentless.

Easy to say but how does one build resilience in the midst of all the noise. There are many ways to work on being more resilient but  mind.org has some great insights that can be incorporated into your life.

Be like water…..

Become curious about the details of your life.

Personally, the first step that I take in a great deal of situations is to remove myself mentally from the frame. I do this by simply taking a position as an observer. Step back and view myself and whoever else may be involved from a different perspective. Become curious about the details of life.


Be water, my friend. The world will go on and we can find ways to thrive in the most difficult times.
